I finished Simplicity 8608. The directions were easy to follow and it was fairly easy to sew together. I made no modifications. I used a light cotton shirting that I purchased from Joann’s.
Simplicity 8608 offers 4 views. View A is a short sleeve wrap Dress with ruffles. View B is a wrap dress without ruffles and long sleeves. View C is a short romper with ruffles at the bottom of the shorts and long sleeves. I made View D which is a jumpsuit with a flutter sleeve. All views include tie belts. I didn’t make the tie belt but I cut the fabric out in case I change my mind in the future.
The jumpsuit fits well. It has pockets which is always great. The only issue is that it is difficult to put on and take off at the shoulders. It’s a real struggle and all I can think of is how that can cause a panic when it’s time to use the bathroom. I guess that’s always something to consider when you make a romper or jumpsuit. I wish I had read the reviews on Instagram and Sewing Pattern Review before sewing it up. The difficulty to put on and take off at the shoulders seems to be a common issue. I’m sure the issue can be fixed by making the opening larger but then the opening will gape. Or maybe making the crotch longer so you that you have more room to lift up the jumper as you put it on or remove the top part at the shoulders.

I think this is a fun outfit to wear. I like how it turned out.
This looks nice and lightweight for the summer night out. Hopefully, you can resolve the issue.
