January blessings

January is a great month. It’s the beginning of a new year. It’s a time for new beginnings. A time to look forward to what’s to come and also a time to look back at all the great times and blessings. But mostly, a time to live in the now and see how much you have to be grateful for.

So for January, I have this to be grateful for:

-Getting my nails done with my daughter. It’s fun spending time with her and doing something fun together. Self care is always a good thing to put on your new year’s resolution list and what better way to take care of yourself than by getting your nails done!

-Field trips with my son. This month we went to the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles. A very educational place to go. A great place for a field trip. My son learned a lot and had alot of fun with his friends. I love going on my children’s field trips. It gets loud and crazy but it’s so worth it.

-Fun outings with my family. This month we went to the L.A. Art Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The art show featured modern and contemporary art. I enjoy looking at the exhibits and what each gallery has to offer. I like trying to figure out what message the artist is trying to convey.

-Postcards from my daughter. This postcard was sent to my son from my daughter. She went to Finland for Christmas and met Santa Claus. She wanted to let Josh know that she talked to Santa about him. He had told her that he was a very good boy and that he was on top of the NICE list. You should’ve seen Josh’s face when he heard that. It was a very sweet postcard and we were so happy to receive it. Receiving handwritten notes, cards and letters in the mail is like the best thing ever!

Today I am grateful for January, new beginnings and a new year.

“We learned about gratitude and humility – that so many people had a hand in our success, from the teachers who inspired us to the janitors who kept our school clean… and we were taught to value everyone’s contribution and treat everyone with respect”. Michelle Obama
