“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.”
― Thich Nhat Hanh,
It’s May and time for my gratitude list. Gratitude opens your eyes and fills your heart with happiness, even the simple pleasures which I treasure.
-Vegfest 2016 was so much fun. Joshy and I went with my friends from work and we had a great time. We ate falafel bites and garlic fries from a food truck called Falasophy. I bought some plant based protein powder called Orgain that was so good that my son didn’t make a face when he drank it, lol. That’s how good it was. It was developed by Andrew Abraham, M.D., a physician and cancer survivor. It has 21 grams of protein and is totally vegan. I bought the sweet vanilla bean flavor. Joshy tried the vegan barbque chips from Beanfields. They have 5 grams of protein per ounce, vegan and gluten free and very delicious. They are made from beans and brown rice. I will certainly buy some more and pack them in Joshy’s lunchbox. But enough about food. We also walked around and said hello to the pets to adopt. Joshy wanted a dog so badly, but it didn’t happen. He was very sad. There were alot of vendors and food trucks. Can’t wait until next year!
-Sewing. I did some sewing this weekend and I made these:
I called them “tea and roses cloth napkins” but I really wanted to call them “It’s all tea and roses until someone gets hurt” cloth napkins. It was too long of a name and kind of corny, but then again, all the names I have for my napkins are corny.
And since I missed posting last weeks gratitude journal, I would also like to add that I am thankful for:
– Happy 11 year steel wedding anniversary presents. My new vintage 1960 Kenmore sewing machine.
– Coffee, coffee and more coffee. More steel for our 11 year wedding anniversary present to each other.
It truly is a sweet Monday.
