Favorite Things, My Gratitude Journal

My trip to the Set Shop in L.A.

I had a chance to go to the Set Shop at 428 Colyton Street in Los Angeles to check out their vintage clothing sale.

The event was from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There were alot of people, but the crowd flowed well. The event was very organized. We arrived at around 11:45. We were able to find great parking.

As soon as you walk into the event, there is an ice cream stand. You can buy ice cream served by an ice cream man wearing vintage ice cream parlor man clothing! My husband bought my son a vanilla ice cream cone and entertained him while I went inside to the clothing area to shop. I found out later that they did a little exploring and window shopping of their own. They checked out the stage and looked at some vintage knives.

So many vintage pieces at affordable prices! Clothing, shoes, hats, and jewelry galore! Most of the vendors were dressed in vintage clothing. I felt like I stepped back in time. I could’ve spent all day here.

What a fun event!

Today I am grateful for all things vintage.

Homemade Body Recipes

Morning Wonder Homemade Body Wash

I love homemade bodywash. I want to share my favorite one. I love this recipe because it is so uplifting. It’s great for the morning. The smell of the eucalyptus oil just wakes you right up!

Eucalyptus oil is an antiseptic and is known for its antiviral and stimulating properties. It is used to treat frustration, anger, stress, tension and depression. The orange oil is an astringent and is known for its calming and cleansing properties. It is used to treat anxiety, depression and insomnia.

No wonder it’s so wonderful!

Morning Wonder Body Wash

1 cup of water

3/4 cup of Dr. Bronner’s citrus orange liquid castile soap

15 to 20 drops of eucalyptus essential oil

3 tablespoons of coconut oil (optional)

Once you get the hang of making your own body wash, you come up with the greatest recipes and most interesting combinations.

Homemade body washes are a great way to cut down on the amount of waste consumed because you can recycle the container or bottle that you use to store the body wash in by using it over and over again. Homemade body washes are also a great way to save money. Also, because it’s organic and contains no harmful chemicals, you are treating your body right.

It’s a wonderful morning…
