Honey lemon whipped coconut cream

RECIPE FOR HONEY LEMON WHIPPED COCONUT CREAM
1/4 jar of coconut oil
10 drops of rosemary essential oil (or any other oil you like that goes with lemon)
1 tablespoon of honey
Juice of 2 lemons
1 teaspoon of vitamin E

I found some coconut oil in the refrigerator this morning and decided it would be fun to make a homemade body recipe. With the help of my 6 year old son, we picked some lemons from the tree in our backyard.

Okay, first we made lemonade, but then with the 2 lemons we had left, we squeezed the juice for the body recipe. We poured the lemon juice in the jar of coconut oil, added 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of vitamin E and 10 drops of essential rosemary oil.

Without melting the coconut oil first because the oil must be solid in order to whip, I whipped the coconut oil for 5 minutes with my electric hand mixer with all ingredients still in the Dr. Bronner’s jar.

Voila! Whipped coconut cream! It softens skin, is all natural and smells great.

Store the jar in room temperature.

Or… Place some coconut cream in a smaller jar to keep at room temperature and keep the larger jar in the refrigerator if you plan on using a little at a time. When you’re ready to use the larger jar stored in the refrigerator, you might have to re-whip the cream as it will harden in the refrigerator.

So what are the benefits of the ingredients on your skin, you ask? Well, coconut oil retains the moisture content of the skin and rehydrates the skin. Honey is a great moisturizer. It is a natural antibacterial which is great for acne treatment and prevention. Honey also has antioxidants, which helps fight the signs of aging. Vitamin E is beneficial to skin cells. It is an antioxidant which helps fight the signs of aging and protects the skin from sun damage. Lemon helps brighten discolored skin and helps fade age spots as well as fight wrinkles. In addition, because lemon is a natural antibacterial, lemon juice can fight the bacteria that can cause acne.

It’s also really fun to make…

Happy whipping!
