I love homemade bodywash. I have concocted so many recipes. I want to share my favorite one. I love this recipe because it is so uplifting. It’s great for the morning. It just wakes you right up!

Citrus Orange Eucalyptus Body Wash
1 cup of water
3/4 cup of Dr. Bronner’s citrus orange liquid castile soap
15 to 20 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
3 tablespoons of coconut oil (optional)
The eucalyptus oil is an antiseptic and is known for its antiviral and stimulating properties. It is used to treat frustration, anger, stress, tension and depression. The orange oil is an astringent and is known for its calming and cleansing properties. It is used to treat anxiety, depression and insomnia.
No wonder it’s so great! It’s so great I’m going to rename it…It shall be called:
(drum roll, please)
Morning Wonder Body Wash
(Formally known as Citrus Orange Eucalyptus Body Wash)
1 cup of water
3/4 cup of Dr. Bronner’s citrus orange liquid castile soap
15 to 20 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
3 tablespoons of coconut oil (optional)
Coconut oil, eucalyptus oil and citrus orange castile soap…
Once you get the hang of making your own body wash, you come up with the greatest recipes and most interesting combinations.
Homemade body washes are a great way to cut down on the amount of waste consumed because you can recycle the container or bottle that you use to store the body wash in by using it over and over again. For example, I store my body wash in a squirt bottle or sometimes I put in back in the Dr. Bronner’s bottle if it’s empty. I can re-use it so many times because it is so sturdy. Homemade body washes are also a great way to save money. Also, it’s organic. No harmful chemicals.
Need I say more? It’s a wonderful morning…
Looks like fun as well as useful. A must try, thanks for share 🙂

Hello…I made your recipe tonight for the morning wonder body wash and I'm confused as to why you would add so much water to this? You're adding more water than body wash which all that does is dilute it and make very runny. When you're showering there's nothing worse than a body wash that is watered down as it's hard to control. Is there a specific reason you do that or is that just a personal preference?

Hi Maureen,You can tailor the recipe to your own preference. This is my own preference to dilute almost equal amount of water to equal amount of castile soap. Some people use castile soap without diluting which you can do as well. Either way, it will probably still be runny, but it can be made foamy by rubbing in your hands together before use or by using a bath mesh/loofah. Then, it's very bubbly and easy to control. Hope this helps.
