My Gratitude Journal

These are a few of my favorite things

1. The name says it all. Pan Dulce. Sweet Bread. It’s sweet. It’s bread. My ultimate favorite thing this week. I cannot stop. Must have.

2. Playing with Dusty the Crophopper. Well, not me, Joshua. My favorite thing lately is watching him play with Dusty. He loves that plane. Best investment I ever made. He throws it like mad and it never breaks. It flies, it glides. So fun! He also has a book about Dusty that we like to read. Also another little plane he likes to hold. Whatever happened to sharks?

3. So, here’s another one of my favorite things. While Joshua is gliding and throwing Dusty around, he likes for me to pretend that I am King Kong. Okay, this was really my idea. Here’s how it works: I sit on a chair in the garage. All the boxes surrounding us are buildings. He flies that plane near me (more like throws and I pray that he doesn’t shoot my eye out) and I have to swipe at it like I’m King Kong. I put my Hulk Hands on so that I look like King Kong. I growl like I’m King Kong. I get mad like King Kong. So cathartic.

In case you’re wondering, these are Hulk Hands:

They’re HUGE!

4. Another one of my favorite things is tending to my succulents. They’re just so pretty. It’s very relaxing. I don’t have a green thumb and I’m a plant killer but while I’m tending to them, I like to pretend that I know what I am doing. I even have garden gloves.

5. Nothing new, but always my favorite thing is the texting madness that goes on between Sabrina and myself. Here is a screenshot from the time we dropped her off at college. They are texts from when I picked her up in the morning from her dorm so that we can have breakfast. Also, letting her know that we got home safely. And lastly, the moment that it finally hit me that she wasn’t home and that she wasn’t coming home for dinner, ever… at least not until November.

6. Taking pictures of flowers especially in my backyard.

7. Last but not least, my new favorite thing: Strawberry bubble gum filled lollipops. Need I say more? Okay, I will.  They are so delicious. My favorite part is when I get to the middle, the bubble gum. It’s like a tootsie roll lollipop. Cracking your teeth into the lollipop so you taste the strawberry candy AND the bubble gum at the same time… YUM!!!

I simply remember my favorite things and then I don’t feel so bad.
